Mmm... we both like to eat good food! Unfortunately Korean food is difficult. There is a lot of meat in all of the food so Jeff and I have to be creative (sometimes this means just eating around the meat!) Whenever anyone asks us what we want for Christmas (or our birthdays...) we say "fresh veggies". We can get vegetables here, but they're expensive and not the same options as what we would find in Canada.
We're looking forward to strawberry season. All our ex-pat friends talk about how exciting it is to have fresh strawberries!
Here are links to some of our very favourite recipes! Unfortunately we can't cook any of these things here. We'll post some recipes of things we eat (to inspire other vegetarians, especially those living in Korea!)
Jackfruit Curry - oh so delicious!! We substitute tofu for the game meat.
G-Nuts - A yummy African dish that is delicious with beans and rice!
Cold Pizza - A great appetizer that requires minimal baking... a nice change to regular pizza
Veg Cooking - A good collection of vegetarian recipes
A list of things we miss from home:
Thai green and red curry paste
mmm... Ruffles Sour Cream and Onion chips (Jen likes these!)
perogies (though Kelly makes some great ones when she can get her hands on sour cream!)
Avacadoes (you can buy these here, but they're about $5 each if they're in season...)
Early Gray Tea (Twinnings... Jen loves this stuff)
